Thermographic Survey to BREEAM

Project: Barnsley College Sports Hall
Date: September 2014
Site Description: A sports hall and the multi-function hall at Barnsley College

Project objectives

To provide Thermographic Surveys for the sports hall and the multi-function hall to secure additional credits as part of BREEAM.

What happened?

Our level 2 certified engineer attended the site and carried out a thermographic survey in order to identify any thermal anomalies and inconsistencies throughout the property. We used the survey in conjunction with a decompressed air leakage test in order to further assist the diagnosis of air ingress and areas where the continuity of the insulation was inconsistent.

Since the Thermographic Survey

This project contributed to the creation of eight new classrooms for sport and public services students and a new social space as well as the sports hall which is now open to the public. ATSPACE have continued to provide Thermographic Surveys to BREEAM standard on sites including Portland Square in Bristol.
